The Bio and Environmental Analytical Chemistry Group was established in July 2004. Our group includes two faculty members, three research assistants, 6 postdoctoral fellows, 12 doctoral students, 4 exchange doctoral student, 1 master students, and 2 exchange master students. Currently, the main research contents in our group are as follows: 1) Cell culture and metabolite analysis on microfluidic chip combined with mass spectrometry; 2) Microfluidics for single cell analysis; 3) Microfluidic methods for microbial analysis for environmental and food safety; 4) Sample pretreatment and chromatographic analysis; 5) Development of new instruments and equipments.
Our group currently obtained the project funds from National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Key R&D Program of China, and the international cooperation research. Long-term cooperation with famous universities, research institutes and enterprises at home and abroad for the student education and to develop chemiluminescence immunoassay kits, microfluidic chip, analytical instruments, and complex sample pretreatment devices.
We have well equipped from Tsinghua University and some companies, including five mass spectrometers, three LC-MS, one GC-MS, one microchip-mass spectrometer (Cellent CM-MS) and two sets of flow injection chemiluminescence instruments.
The Analysis Center, Biomedical Analysis Center, Laboratory Animal Research Center and other experimental platforms in Tsinghua University can service to any research groups. They can provide high level analysis services for post-doctoral and postgraduate research.
We welcome the collaboratory from different research groups or companies. Each year, 2-3 postdoctoral fellows, 2-3 doctoral students (including the foreign students), 1-2 excellent visiting scholars, and 2 undergraduate graduates can be accepted to our group. At the same time, excellent graduate students of other group are welcome to participate in the research activities of the research group as guest students.
