2013年11月17-21日，第40届国际高效液相色谱及相关技术学术研讨会(HPLC2013)在澳大利亚塔斯马尼亚州首府霍巴特举行。受会议组委会的邀请，林金明教授出席会议并作了题为“The study of cell capture and cell-to-cell communication on microfluidic device”的主题报告。同时本研究组的博士生刘武同学作了题为“Paper-spray Ionization-Mass Spectrometry for Chemical Monitoring of Organic Reactions and Extracellular Microenvironments”的口头报告，博士生张洁同学做了题为“Capture, enrichment and detection of multiple cancer cells with an aptamer-based microfluidic device”的口头报告。

HPLC国际会议是分离分析科学研究领域最权威的国际学术会议，已经连续举办了20届。2014年5月的第41届将在美国新奥尔良召开。
